People of Action

Rotary is where neighbors, friends, and problem-solvers share ideas, join leaders and take action to create lasting change.

The Bay City Rotary Club, a non-profit club affiliated with Rotary International, meets Tuesdays at noon at Fat Grass Restaurant, 1717 Seventh Street in Bay City. New members and guests are always welcome.

This year’s club theme is “Rotary: Making A Difference,” and, among other projects, the Bay City Rotary Club looks to partner with the City of Bay City to plant 100 new trees throughout the community in the coming year.

Founded in 1962, the Bay City Rotary Club has been a leading service club in Bay City and Matagorda County, Texas for six decades.

Our members promote, encourage and recognize integrity and high ethical standards in our personal and professional relationships.  We endeavor to employ our professional skill to serve our community, assist young people in their career aspirations and lead others in professional development.

Since 2001, our club has raised and donated more than $350,000 to worthwhile organizations such as Bay City Babe Ruth League, Bay City Library, Boys & Girls Club, MEHOP, Wellness Matagorda and many others.  Over that time, we have awarded over 100 scholarships to high school graduates continuing their studies and to Jack Conner Scholarship recipients attending dual credit classes at Bay City High School.

We encourage you to join us as we serve our professions, our community and our world together.

What does Rotary do?

We Connect People

Rotary unites more than a million people. Through Rotary clubs, people from all continents and cultures come together to exchange ideas and form friendships and professional connections while making a difference in their backyards and around the world.

Worldwide, 1.2 million Rotarians make up more than 35,000 clubs – just like your Bay City Rotary Club.

We Transform Communities

We take action locally and globally. Each day, our members pour their passion, integrity, and intelligence into completing projects that have a lasting impact. We persevere until we deliver real, lasting solutions.

We Solve Problems

No challenge is too big for us. For more than 110 years, we’ve bridged cultures and connected continents to champion peace, fight illiteracy and poverty, promote clean water and sanitation, and fight disease. Through the Rotary’s efforts, 2.5 billion children across the globe have immunized against polio.
